Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional technology experience, including 5+ years in DevOps, release engineering, CI/CD automation, infrastructure automation, or related delivery engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted capabilities into CI/CD pipelines or DevOps workflows to improve automation, troubleshooting, deployment reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Git-based source control, branching strategies, pull requests, and release workflow practices.
  • Ability to independently automate build, test, packaging, configuration, infrastructure, deployment, and operational support tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices and their integration into automated delivery pipelines.
  • Experience implementing controlled environment promotion and release management practices.
  • Capability to support and troubleshoot cloud, server, application platform, or enterprise hosting environments.
  • Effective technical communication, documentation, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable application build, test, release, and deployment processes.
  • Administer and govern Azure DevOps and the broader DevSecOps delivery toolchain, including repositories, branching policies, build agents, artifact repositories, service connections, and pipeline security scanning tools.
  • Establish and maintain source code and configuration management standards, owning how code and configuration move between environments.
  • Build reusable, self-service pipeline templates and paved-road standards for delivery teams to adopt within approved guardrails.
  • Implement GitOps, blue/green, and progressive deployment approaches, including automated rollback and release gates where appropriate.
  • Integrate Infrastructure as Code modules and platform services into delivery pipelines to provision and promote consistent environments.
  • Integrate automated testing, quality gates, and security checks into delivery workflows in partnership with Quality Assurance, Security, and Platform Engineering.
  • Apply secure delivery practices, including secrets management, least-privilege service connections, vulnerability awareness, and policy checks.
  • Ensure pipelines produce traceable evidence of approvals, testing, and deployments to support change management and audit requirements.
  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to embed release-readiness criteria, monitoring, logging, alerting, and deployment health validation into delivery pipelines.
  • Use AI tools to improve efficiency and reliability within build and deployment pipelines.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize legacy deployment processes, improve developer experience, and increase release frequency and safety.
  • Automate repeatable build, test, packaging, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, pipeline, packaging, deployment, configuration, and environment-related issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, standards, and reusable templates that improve delivery supportability and knowledge sharing.
  • Support production releases outside of business hours.
