About The Position

The Mind Company is a fully remote company focused on mental fitness through award-winning apps like Elevate, Balance, and Spark. They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team. This role will focus on maintaining the platform's health and shaping software development practices with AI. The engineer will be responsible for defining the future of AI in software development, implementing best practices and tooling, and driving adoption across the organization. The position also involves day-to-day platform maintenance to free up product engineers for core development tasks. The role starts embedded with one product team and will expand scope over time. This is a fully remote position open to candidates in North or South America.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or a related field.
  • Comfortable working across many different codebases, including those not fully known.
  • Genuinely excited about AI and the future of software development, with informed opinions on applying AI to real systems.
  • Experience building tooling that other engineers have adopted.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and drive projects to completion independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated mobile app release processes.
  • Experience with data pipelines.
  • Experience maintaining and tuning production databases.
  • Experience with incident response and disaster recovery.
  • Interest in mental health, brain training, and meditation.

Responsibilities

  • Primary engineer responsible for infrastructure (as code), CI/CD systems, mobile release automation, data pipelines, and monitoring.
  • Help set the direction for AI usage across engineering, building shared tooling, agent workflows, and automation.
  • Scale impact across engineering through documentation, demos, and creating usable tooling for other engineers.
  • Work closely with engineers across all teams and influence the direction of engineering practices.
