About The Position

The Senior DevOps Automation Engineer leads automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning, build, and deployment activities to automate and improve the build, deployment, and operation of enterprise applications. The role requires a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and the software release lifecycle. The successful candidate creates and maintains Ansible playbooks, troubleshoots automation issues, ensures consistent and reliable deployments across environments, and collaborates with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows.

The position works with IT management to improve software engineering processes and practices associated with continuous integration and continuous deployment of application changes. It involves interacting with architects, developers, the deployment team, and database administrators to automate various tasks. The position requires on-call availability during evenings and weekends as needed to meet business needs.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using tools such as Ansible.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with BitBucket or GIT source code management tools, including branching, merging, configuring, and administering.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience automating build and deployment processes, including database changes, using tools such as Ansible.
• 7+ years of experience developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python, Bash, or Shell.
• 2+ years of experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes.
• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• 2+ years of strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, automation best practices, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and the software release lifecycle.

• Experience debugging deployments, validating configurations, and improving release reliability.
