About The Position

Yeshiva University seeks a motivated, emerging fundraising professional to join the Institutional Advancement team. The Senior Development Associate will manage fundraising efforts, community engagement, and event coordination to support Yeshiva University's growth in Long Island. The role focuses on donor relations, event management, and strategic outreach to enhance philanthropic support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • A proactive attitude with enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field of development

  • Fundraising and/or event experience preferred
  • familiarity with donor databases a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 4-figure donors and prospects, primarily in Long Island
  • Cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and steward donor engagement through in-person meetings, calls, emails, and virtual platforms
  • Leverage local events to build new and strengthen existing donor relationships with the goal of increasing philanthropic support for YU in Long Island
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of community-based programs and events, including lunch and learn series, community Beit Midrash, and scholar-in-residence Shabbats
  • Recruit, schedule, and manage faculty and speakers, including processing honorariums, arranging housing when necessary, and related arrangements
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venues, catering, registrations, on-site setup, and payment processing
  • Prepare talking points and develop programs that showcase Yeshiva University
  • Collaborate with communications and information systems colleagues to set up registration pages and promote events through digital advertising, email campaigns, and community channels
  • Serve as the primary liaison with synagogues, rabbis, hosts, and community partners across Long Island and expanded geographic areas
  • Oversee event budgets, ensure timely collection of funds, and complete accurate post-event reporting
  • Support donor and community engagement through follow-up communication with hosts, participants, and prospective donors
  • Expand programming beyond the Five Towns, including West Hempstead and Great Neck
