Senior Developer - QIS Technology
About The Position
The Senior Developer - QIS Technology will contribute to a global team delivering scalable client-servicing solutions that provide digital access and reporting insights. The role supports client expectations and business growth by reducing front-office operational dependency, increasing automation, improving data quality, and delivering a consistent client experience across regions. It includes leading or guiding engineering work, providing technical direction and mentorship, and collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to align technical decisions with business objectives. The position also involves overseeing delivery planning, team allocation, risks, and priorities; improving engineering processes and tools; enforcing technology standards and testing practices; and contributing to risk management, governance, and continuous improvement. The role is based in the New York, NY office.
Requirements
- Knowledge of designing and developing enterprise solutions using Java.
- Experience with Python and ability to use it to create fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Experience with reporting solutions such as Power BI and creating user-friendly reports using structured and unstructured data.
- Experience working with Quantitative Strategies or Indices and relevant product knowledge related to Equity and/or Commodity derivatives.
- Ability to work with databases and data stores, including Oracle and SQL Server.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
- Validated ability to oversee and develop high-performing teams of 4–8 professionals.
- Experience working in a Front Office environment and partnering closely with Trading and Structuring teams.
- Experience with Docker, cloud technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of KDB.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture to achieve project and organizational goals.
- Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management, and task prioritization to deliver solutions within scope, time, and budget.
- Mentor team members, support professional growth, conduct performance reviews, and provide actionable feedback.
- Evaluate and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices.
- Contribute to strategy, requirements, recommendations for change, resource planning, budgets, policies, and continuous improvement.
- Advise key stakeholders and senior management on functional and cross-functional impacts and alignment.
- Assess and mitigate risks, and demonstrate accountability for risk management and strengthening controls.
- Develop innovative solutions through complex analysis, research, and comparison of alternatives.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and partnerships to accomplish business objectives.
