Senior Developer
About The Position
One North is a digital experience agency and part of TEKsystems. The Senior Developer drives project implementation and strategy across back-end technologies to deliver progressive, responsive, high-performing website builds. Working closely with clients and internal teams, the role reviews, develops, and implements technical client applications. The Senior Developer leads project initiatives by creating solutions and directing developers on solutions to implement, without directly managing people. The role contributes to implementation, testing, and support of web-based projects; engineers solutions for performance, maintainability, and efficiency; and helps create high-quality end-user experiences. The Senior Developer is a primary contributor to testing and issue resolution, and improves applications by reducing technical debt, optimizing performance, and investigating and architecting feature updates. The position also mentors technology team members, leads developers, and consults with high-profile clients. The role is ideally based in the Chicago area, but remote candidates across the United States and Canada are considered. The posting identifies the position as fully remote and permanent, based out of Chicago, Illinois.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of development experience in an agency or consultancy.
- At least 3 years of experience with .NET MVC and ASP.NET.
- At least 3 years of experience with HTML5 and CSS3 (SASS).
- At least 3 years of experience with JavaScript, Node.JS, and frameworks such as Vue.JS or React.
- At least 3 years of experience with Git.
- At least 3 years of experience understanding enterprise software development best practices.
- At least 1 year of experience with MongoDB and SQL Server.
- Broad knowledge of capabilities across different browsers and devices.
- Previous work with DevOps tooling and management.
- At least 3 years of expertise with Sitecore or SitecoreAI.
- At least 3 years of extensive use of modern CMS systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Adobe AEM, or similar.
- At least 3 years of experience reviewing and handling complex support issues.
- Experience with headless architectures.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the implementation, testing, and support of web-based projects.
- Engineer solutions for performance, maintainability, and efficiency while creating end-user experiences.
- Contribute to the testing process and provide fixes for issues.
- Reduce technical debt, optimize applications, and investigate and architect improvements for feature updates.
- Apply knowledge of the .NET page lifecycle and MVC, object-oriented programming, browser compatibility, and web performance optimization tools.
- Nurture and mentor new members of the Technology team.
- Lead other developers in developing web solutions.
- Recommend solutions and consult with high-profile clients on projects of varying size and scope.
- Seek feedback from diverse perspectives and apply it to ongoing self-development.
