About The Position

The Senior Software Developer works in the Delta Community Credit Union (DCCU) Software Development department providing enterprise level design, integration, and development of software applications and systems in a highly regulated security critical environment. The Senior Software Developer is able to take ownership of multiple software systems and work hands on while mentoring other developers throughout the development process. They work with both technical and non-technical people to ensure that solutions developed bring value and meet the needs of the business and our members. They are a subject matter expert on software development practices and on the systems they build and support. They demonstrate the values of servant leadership and assists management with supervising the operations of the development team. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
High School Diploma or equivalent
7+ years’ software development experience required
Advanced knowledge of software development practice, concepts, technology obtained through formal training and work experience
Strong ability and desire to learn, improve, and solve problems
Experience with source control tools, build tools, and continuous delivery
Experience with unit testing and load testing
Understanding of building scalable applications and backend components
Advanced troubleshooting skills – Performance, Configuration
Solid understanding and significant experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, JSON, XML
Understanding of secure coding practices including the OWASP top 10
Experience with modern development tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, Visual Studio, or similar
Strong ability to work as part of a team and as an individual as needed
Strong general knowledge of computers and IT systems
Willingness to work a portion of the time using proprietary scripting tools
A solid work ethic and a strong history of employment are a must
Solid communication skills both verbal and written
Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.

Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience with Microsoft .NET
Experience with multiple JavaScript libraries
Experience with Cloud hosted applications
Experience developing in MS SharePoint
Experience developing in MS Dynamics CRM
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
Experience in an agile scrum environment
Experience with Symitar PowerOn scripting
Formal training or background in User Experience (UX)
Experience with some non-Microsoft technologies such as Java, AWS
Experience with TypeScript
Experience with current and emerging best practices in credit union or financial services industry, specifically the consumer retail banking sector.

Responsibilities

Work on one or more projects of moderate to advanced complexity.
Provide assistance and support to other teammates.
Effectively documents and communicates assigned work and progress within and to immediate supervision and management.
Test and implement systems and enhancements using techniques that preserve system integrity.
Develop simple to moderately complex standalone and multi-tiered applications based on originator specifications.
Advance the team’s technology exposure while helping to provide quality results for the customer.
Test programs to ensure quality and expected results prior to deployment in production systems.
Construct objects at the business logic layer to achieve results defined by project specifications.
Deliver Web and PC based applications as required to support associated projects.
Enhance processes based on customer feedback and practical consideration.
Collect and analyze data from existing and incoming projects to determine functional requirements.
Work closely with originators to ensure the application delivered meets their criteria through test deployments.
Make recommendations for revisions to project plan based on evaluation data.
