About The Position

This is a hands-on role for a software engineering professional who enjoys building solutions to real problems. The Senior Developer II will take on large, complex work with limited supervision, partner closely with their manager and teammates, and contribute as the team grows. The position is based at the Store Support Center (SSC) in Atlanta and is in-office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday); it is not remote. The role focuses on building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and shared pipeline services, improving developer tooling and self-service resources, and implementing SOX-compliant change and deployment controls. The employee will also contribute to early observability work, prepare for future runtime and integration responsibilities, collaborate across technical teams, provide Level 2 platform support, and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
  • Recent hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and tooling, such as Jenkins, GitHub, or Argo, and understanding of how delivery controls support compliance.
  • Strong grasp of developer tooling and engineering practices, including testing frameworks, application frameworks, and security scanning in the pipeline.
  • Working knowledge of observability practices and tools, such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or OpsGenie.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based runtimes.
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and technologies such as APIs, messaging, and streaming.
  • Ability to manage work independently and deliver in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with engineers and business partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a SOX-regulated environment, working directly with audit teams.
  • Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with platform-as-a-product practices and developer experience metrics.
  • Familiarity with MCP and AI-assisted development tooling.
  • Retail or multi-channel commerce experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and support CI/CD pipelines and shared pipeline services.
  • Build and enhance developer tooling, including testing frameworks, application frameworks, spec-driven development tooling, and security scanning in the pipeline.
  • Own large technical tasks from design through release with limited supervision.
  • Gather developer feedback and turn it into platform improvements.
  • Implement SOX-compliant change and deployment controls in partnership with Internal Audit and Security.
  • Create documentation, self-service guides, and “golden paths” to help teams work independently.
  • Contribute hands-on to early observability work, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response, as the team moves into Phase 2.
  • Learn and prepare for Runtime (Kubernetes and containers) and Integration (APIs, messaging, and streaming) work as the team grows.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Enterprise Architecture teams on shared standards.
  • Provide Level 2 support for platform services.
