About The Position

The Senior Developer GMS is a customer-facing software engineering role focused on developing, integrating, testing, and delivering Generation Management System (GMS) applications for utility customers. The role combines software engineering expertise with power systems knowledge to help utilities optimize generation operations and improve grid reliability.

The position involves working directly with customers to understand operational needs, design tailored solutions, and implement mission-critical applications. The engineer contributes throughout the project lifecycle, from software development and systems integration to testing, training, and solution delivery, while collaborating with global engineering and product teams on solution design and innovation.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in software development, application engineering, or related technical roles.
• Experience developing software using C, C++, C#, and/or FORTRAN.
• Strong customer engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with complex technical systems and software applications.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of utility operations and industry technologies such as EMS, SCADA, GMS, ADMS, DMS, AGC, Economic Dispatch, State Estimation, AI/ML, or optimization tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Generation Management System (GMS) applications.
• Partner directly with utility customers to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Integrate GMS applications with EMS, SCADA, and other operational technologies.
• Lead software testing, validation, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to drive innovation.
• Contribute to solution design, project execution, and proposal development.
• Use Agile development practices, advanced analytics, and AI-driven technologies to enhance grid operations, optimize performance, and deliver customer solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
