About The Position

PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to join their Developer Relations team. This role involves educating others on incident response, operational resilience, reliability, and the impact of AI in incident management. The ideal candidate will have strong opinions and practical experience in these areas, and will contribute to shaping the future of developer advocacy. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, content creation, community engagement, and internal feedback routing. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the Atlanta office.

Requirements

  • Experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, community, solutions engineering, support engineering, SRE, or another technical role accountable to developers.
  • Demonstrated technical credibility with live demonstrations and real-world execution.
  • Experience carrying a pager and opinions about incident management and reliability processes, especially with AI.
  • Proficiency in 1-2 programming languages, familiarity with APIs, and ability to quickly become productive in new environments.
  • A public body of work (e.g., writing, talks, demos, code repositories, videos, or streams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats.
  • Active participation in technical developer communities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for conferences, meetups, and team gatherings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging with security-conscious or compliance-heavy developer audiences.
  • Hands-on experience working with AI agent frameworks or modern AI tooling.
  • Experience running production systems at scale.
  • Track record of contributing to open source projects.
  • Prior customer-facing experience in technical support or solutions engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Build sample apps, integrations, and demos against the PagerDuty API, including those that exercise AI and agentic capabilities.
  • Write technical content for practitioners, such as tutorials, deep dives, teardowns, and opinion pieces.
  • Present at conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, and create video content, with support for CFP submissions and coaching.
  • Participate in the PagerDuty community and external developer spaces discussing operations, reliability, and AI engineering, and support developer events.
  • Route feedback from the community to internal teams with actionable context.
  • Enable others by building and maintaining systems that empower engineers, product marketers, and community champions to advocate effectively.
