A Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for overseeing the evaluation, implementation, and management of complex cybersecurity platforms and controls intended to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems while adhering to the credit union’s standards and industry best practices. To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully. Evaluate, implement, and manage cybersecurity platforms, technologies, and integrations to provide coverage for critical security controls and reduce risk to the organization. Collaborate with Cybersecurity Architecture to provide subject matter expertise for designing effective security architecture. Ensure that all cybersecurity platforms and tooling continue to operate in a healthy and effective manner by implementing monitoring. Develops and maintains processes and procedures related to cybersecurity engineering activities and workflows. Assists with the oversight of change control processes and provides subject matter expertise when reviewing and approving tickets. Effectively contributes to the cybersecurity engineering roadmap, ensuring it aligns with organizational needs, operational priorities, and the architectural function’s strategic guidance. Provide support to vulnerability management by improving scanning capabilities, remediation workflows, platform integrations, and engineering-driven control enhancements. Assist with post-incident engineering improvements, including root cause analysis, hardening actions, and automation opportunities.
