About The Position

We are seeking a talented Senior Apparel Designer to join our team and work closely with the Design Director in creating a trend-forward, juniors' ready-to-wear line with a focus on knit and woven dresses, jumpsuits, and rompers. This role requires a blend of creativity, organization, and technical expertise to bring fresh, brand-right designs to market. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates superior project management skills, and is passionate about young adult fashion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Apparel Design or a related field
  • 4+ years of full-time professional design experience in cut-and-sew and woven categories
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, factories, and vendors
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and staying ahead of fashion trends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in young adult/juniors' fashion is highly preferred
  • Please include a portfolio showcasing your design work, particularly in the juniors' or young adult category. We are looking for clean and detailed submissions as part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Produce fast, accurate, and on-trend apparel sketches using Adobe Illustrator for a young adult ready-to-wear collection designed for Walmart.
  • Organize and manage daily tasks to meet critical deadlines, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
  • Conduct in-depth research and present relevant, brand-appropriate trends aligned with vendor capabilities.
  • Develop detailed technical packs in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) to communicate design specifications clearly.
  • Partner with the Design Director to relay accurate information to overseas vendors and address customer feedback effectively.
  • Work closely with the graphic design team to align on print and graphic direction for the line.
  • Troubleshoot sample issues and propose practical solutions to maintain design integrity and production timelines.
  • Stay updated on market trends through regular trend and competitive shopping.
  • Maintain organized notes and records to track ongoing projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.
