Freelance Senior Designer
About The Position
Idea Peddler is seeking a freelance Senior Designer to support destination, tourism, hospitality, and place-based marketing initiatives. This is a hands-on design role for someone who can both develop and execute creative work. We are looking for a designer with strong agency experience who can partner with Creative Directors to explore visual territories, develop campaign concepts, and produce polished, production-ready creative across multiple channels. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with direct destination marketing organization (DMO), convention and visitors bureau (CVB), hotel, resort, or tourism industry experience.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of advertising agency experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating advertising campaign development and execution
- Experience working with tourism, destination marketing, hospitality, hotel, resort, attraction, or travel-related brands
- Proven ability to create work across digital, print, social, outdoor, presentations, and experiential applications
- Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat

- Strong design craft and attention to detail
- Comfortable moving between concept development and execution
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Experienced presenting and discussing creative work

- Able to take a loose strategic direction and quickly turn it into visual possibilities
Responsibilities
- Designing advertising campaigns and marketing materials
- Developing visual territories and creative springboards
- Creating mood boards, inspiration boards, and concept explorations
- Translating strategic direction into compelling visual solutions
- Building client-ready presentations and pitch materials
- Producing production-ready files and final deliverables
- Collaborating closely with Creative Directors, writers, strategists, and account teams
