Nike is looking for a Senior Color Designer for Tennis Apparel who blends creativity, technical mastery, and instinct to elevate performance apparel through the power of color. This person understands how color sparks emotion, drives narrative, and influences culture. They stay tuned into athlete insight, sport-style trends, and the evolving landscape of apparel, color, and material innovation. They are a strong communicator, a strategic thinker, and a natural collaborator who builds resonant, narrative-rich color stories. They bring deep expertise in color technology—materials, dyes, finishes, and achievability—and know how to translate research and storytelling into compelling, actionable palettes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic, textile or product design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technically challenging color design roles.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Keynote.
  • Expertise in color technology, materials, dyes, finishes, and color achievability.
  • Passion for storytelling, athlete insight, and women’s performance trends.
  • Must submit a creative design portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Create narrative-driven seasonal color concepts that shape the future of Tennis Apparel for both men’s and women’s collections.
  • Use research, consumer insight, and color craft to bring trend-relevant product stories to life across the line.
  • Collaborate with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development to build cohesive seasonal color direction.
  • Create color palettes and flows that align with category strategy.
  • Conduct in‑depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to inform color decisions.
  • Present compelling seasonal color proposals to internal and external audiences.
  • Review samples, troubleshoot color execution challenges, and drive accuracy from concept to manufacturing.
  • Support cross-functional designers with color expertise outside your assigned load when needed.
  • Lead yourself and teammates confidently through change, iteration, and ambiguity.
