About The Position

NORR’s Hospitality team dreams big. Whether collaborating with a major hotel brand for the design of a cutting-edge, modern hotel concept or designing a custom boutique hotel in an urban setting, we bring the highest level of design standards and blend this with specific local requirements to successfully deliver high-quality solutions. As a Senior Designer, you will work with other members of the design team in order to develop design solutions appropriate to the context, budget and aesthetic requirements of architectural projects. You will collaborate with other professional disciplines and have opportunities to coordinate the design through all phases of the project.

Requirements

• Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required
• Architectural design software skills including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software
• Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required
• Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
• 10+ years of project work experience

Nice To Haves

• Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
• Experience in Hospitality projects is an asset

Responsibilities

• Compiles information from reports and published documents; evaluates and analyzes the information to understand broad requirements of project
• Develops architectural designs, to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
• Coordinates design intent with other disciplines
• Integrates engineering requirements, site surveys and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
• Prepares design reports, drawings and models following office standards
• Performs site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents; identifies any deviations and liaises with owner and contactor to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Reviews project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls
