Real Estate Development - Senior Designer/Designer, Electrical Systems
About The Position
Aritzia is growing, and our Architecture team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the Engineering Systems team responsible for translating design vision into technically sound, fully integrated spaces, ensuring building systems and specialty elements are coordinated to meet project goals. As the Senior Designer/Designer, Electrical Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring electrical systems are accurately and compliantly integrated into store designs. Working alongside internal creative and regulatory teams, as well as external consultants, you will help translate design intent into executable solutions while applying strong technical expertise and regulatory knowledge across a range of control systems. Requirements
- Proven skills, certifications, education and/or experience in electrical engineering, electrical systems design, and electrical code application.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong electrical code and system design knowledge.
- Experience working with external consultants.
- A commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles.
Responsibilities
- Support with the development of electrical design guidelines and RFP content while assessing consultant deliverables to ensure they meet technical quality.
- Collaborate with our Leasing and Architecture teams on leasing documents and other project early works requirements to ensure our leased spaces are adequately prepared for boutique needs.
- Support with the development and maintenance of design and documentation standards around electrical works in our retail spaces.
- Execute the review of electrical systems to ensure adherence to relevant codes and regulations, supporting safe and legal implementations.
- Support with the translation of creative lighting concepts into code-compliant, field-ready solutions that maintain design intent.
- Support the cross-functional coordination of internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive delivery of all electrical infrastructure across our retail environments.
- Support with milestone drawing reviews and flag technical risks early, contributing to efficient delivery and reduced downstream issues.
- Support in the design of repeatable, scalable system solutions to support growth across multiple store formats and regions.
