As a Senior Design Technician, Bridges, you will play a key role in delivering impactful bridge projects while developing your capabilities across design, inspection, and construction activities.
Requirements
- Diploma in Structural, Civil, or Transportation Engineering Technology
- Proficiency in AutoCAD within a consulting or design environment (knowledge of MicroStation an asset)
- Exposure to bridge structures, including highway, rail, or pedestrian infrastructure
- Ability to support inspections and interpret structural conditions in field environments
- Familiarity with Civil 3D, 3D modelling, and/or Revit (considered an asset)
- TEC Bridge Inspection and Maintenance (BIM) certification (considered an asset)
- Strong technical communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Nice To Haves
- knowledge of MicroStation
- Familiarity with Civil 3D, 3D modelling, and/or Revit
- TEC Bridge Inspection and Maintenance (BIM) certification
Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary, detailed design and as-built drawings for civil infrastructures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls supporting high‑quality engineering solutions
- Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to coordinate multidisciplinary efforts
- Assist in producing technical documentation that informs key project decisions
- Possibility to contribute to the development of technical construction specifications aligned with project and regulatory requirements and supporting major inspection programs by gathering and documenting structural performance data
- Contribute to contract administration and construction oversight to ensure successful project delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting a variety of traditional and alternative delivery projects
