About The Position

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features. Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale. We are looking for a highly motivated individual contributor who has knowledge of vehicle sensing hardware and a desire to work as a Senior Design Release Engineer (DRE). Broad technical knowledge combined with creative and independent thinking are needed to be successful in this role. This DRE will develop requirements and methods for using sensing technologies in new ways to solve challenges with Occupant and Pedestrian Protection systems, Chassis Dynamic Position Sensing, Thermal Vision, and/or Environmental Sensing. This DRE will implement new sensing strategies using acceleration, position and environmental sensors, radar, and camera technologies. This DRE performs complex assignments requiring a wider application of principles, theories, and concepts.
