About The Position

This role involves designing infrastructure for industries and communities, specifically focusing on the design and structural analysis of supports for mechanical piping systems and providing general engineering support for clients in the Construction Industry. The Senior Design Engineer will develop engineered solutions for projects such as water/wastewater treatment plants, power generation facilities, and process utility systems. Responsibilities include producing accurate designs—while applying advanced tools such as Structural analysis, 2D/3D modeling and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure structural integrity, performance, and compliance with industry Codes. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on design work with client collaboration, project leadership, and mentorship of junior engineers along with direct support of fabrication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in design engineering
  • Ability to prepare Engineered drawings for submittal and fabrication in conformance with engineered designs and Project Specifications
  • Strong skills in communication with clients to arrive at an ideal design solution
  • Expertise in structural analysis of frames and supports using the AISC code, with the ability to evaluate welded and bolted connections
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Inventor
  • Proficiency in BIM software (REVIT/Navisworks)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Mathcad
  • Ability to use FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and 3D modeling software to evaluate structural components
  • Familiarity with AISC Steel Construction Manual
  • Familiarity with ASCE
  • Familiarity with ACI 318
  • Familiarity with ASME B31
  • Familiarity with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code
  • Familiarity with MSS-SP-58
  • Designing in conformance with project Specifications

Nice To Haves

  • EIT or PE credentials
  • Experience with Pipe Stress Analysis software using Autopipe
  • Structural design experience with Bentley’s RAM or Dlubal RFEM and Ideas Statica
