Senior Design Engineer_Intellihot

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions•Galesburg, IL

About The Position

The Senior Design Engineer partners cross-functionally to design, develop, manufacture, and service Intellihot tankless water heaters, boilers, and other products. Coordinated with the company’s Lean/Continuous Improvement system, this role works with minimal supervision to lead complex projects that improve quality and efficiency. The work includes building, assembling, and testing prototypes and putting together complete systems. Hands-on work and prior exposure to castings, sheet metal, O-rings, and water and gas manifolds are necessary. The engineer designs and evaluates mechanical and electromechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes; develops new heat exchangers and modifies existing designs; investigates system malfunctions and identifies root causes and corrective actions; and works with suppliers and external contractors. The position also oversees product assembly, testing, integration, operation, maintenance, and repair, and develops manufacturing processes and documentation. PTC Creo is used to create 3D models of components, assemblies, fixtures, and parts, as well as engineering drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerances suitable for machining and manufacturability.
