About The Position

Located in Woodland, WA, LifePort is the leading manufacturer of medical transportation and interior products as well as ballistic armor protection systems for fixed and rotary wing aircraft. From large multi-aircraft projects to small custom projects, LifePort supplies the industry’s largest aerospace OEMs and end users with the finest aviation solutions today. This position directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility.

  • Working knowledge of FAA and MIL testing standards
  • Experience with FAA and military certification
  • Must be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of aerospace materials and standards
  • Familiarity with working with ERP system
  • BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace from ABET accredited institution
  • 10–15 years’ experience
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.

Responsibilities

  • New product designs, from conceptual through detail design phases
  • Create and track schedules using Microsoft Project, or equivalent
  • Manage projects from initial drawing release to liaison support and product delivery
  • Maintain metrics to track budget and schedule requirements
  • Manage prototype construction and testing
  • Work with supply chain to identify and develop vendors
  • Create and present concepts/products to internal and external customers
  • Create test plans, conduct testing and documenting results
  • Technical presentations to internal and external customers
  • Product definition and requirements development and creation of statement of work (SOW)
  • Creating and validating new designs (modeling/drafting/BOM creation)
  • Materials research and selection to support design requirements
  • Qualification test plan/report creation and management
  • Manufacturing liaison support
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Develop and maintain engineering standard work
  • Acts as a mentor and provides feedback for lower level engineers
  • Participates in peer technical reviews and final design sign-off
  • Participate in project bids and proposals for bid hours and technical compliance
