The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, simulating, and developing high-speed, high-sensitivity InGaAs/InP photodiodes for optical transceivers and next-generation optoelectronic applications. The position supports product development from concept through qualification and manufacturing, ensuring performance, quality, and reliability objectives are achieved. Collaboration with epitaxial growth and semiconductor process engineers is key to defining and optimizing device structures, epitaxial designs, and fabrication processes. The role also involves working closely with test and reliability engineers to develop characterization plans, analyze device performance, and coordinate reliability qualification activities. Evaluating device performance through electrical and optical characterization and recommending design improvements based on test results are crucial. Partnering with internal wafer fabrication teams and external manufacturing partners to develop and implement advanced manufacturing technologies is also a responsibility. The engineer will analyze engineering data, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive continuous improvements in device performance, manufacturability, and yield. Documenting design methodologies, experimental results, and technical findings, while contributing to intellectual property development and innovation initiatives, is expected. Staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends in photodiodes, optical communications, and III-V semiconductor devices is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • PhD in photodiodes design and development or with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Optoelectronic device design and simulation
  • Familiar with photodiode epi materials growth and development
  • Familiar with photodiode wafer front process and backend process.
  • Familiar with photodiode test and characterization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
