A Day in the Life The Senior Automation & Controls Engineer will support automation initiatives from concept through production deployment, focusing on advanced technologies such as automation cells, collaborative robots (Cobots). This role ensures seamless integration of automation systems, process development, and equipment mechanization to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability across manufacturing operations. Driven by Medtronic’s mission to advance life-saving therapies, our Dexter, Michigan site is a rapidly growing manufacturing facility focused on advanced cardiopulmonary and Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) / ECMO technologies. The site operates in a highly regulated, cleanroom environment and plays a critical role in delivering life-sustaining devices used in cardiac and respiratory care. With a strong culture centered on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, the Dexter team partners closely across engineering, operations, and R&D to scale innovative manufacturing solutions that directly impact patient outcomes.
