About The Position

This senior attorney position provides legal advice and counsel to and representation for the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) on a wide variety of issues in multiple areas of law including real estate, eminent domain/condemnation, inverse condemnations, contracts, torts, construction, and environmental. Primary duties include litigation, contract review, and client advice.

Requirements

Graduation from accredited law school and licensed and in good standing to practice law in Nevada or eligible for limited practice certification.
Minimum of seven (7) years as a licensed practicing attorney.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Knowledge and experience in the substantive law of contracts, torts, and construction.
Current knowledge of State and federal civil procedure and rules of evidence.
Familiarity with administrative law and procedures.
Some familiarity with eminent domain/condemnation law.
Strong skills in written and verbal communication, planning, prioritizing, and executing timelines without supervision.
Professionalism, organization, self-motivation, punctuality, and leadership skills.
Mobility to work in typical office setting, use standard office equipment, and travel.
Ability to read printed materials and computer screens.
Ability to hear and to communicate in person and virtually and over the telephone.
Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner.
