About The Position

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Deal Desk Analyst to join their Strategic Finance team. This role will support the company's growing commercial selling motion by providing financial analysis and guidance on commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will be a nimble, curious, analytical, organized, and communicative professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role involves enforcing and defining discount and credit policies, structuring deals to align with financial goals, and ensuring profitability. The Strategic Finance team is responsible for the company's financial well-being, supporting operational and business planning. They ensure accurate projection and management of growth, proper financial accounting, and provide financial analysis for critical strategic and operational decisions in a rapidly growing organization.

Requirements

  • High standards of accuracy and precision; extremely detail-oriented, highly organized and resourceful.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly grasp and apply analytical concepts.
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, FP&A/ sales finance, deal management, sales operations, or business operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within fixed timeframes and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Proactive communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Salesforce, Hubspot or other CRM tools desired.
  • Experience with data analysis programs like Looker and Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted cross-functional relationships with Sales, Revenue Operations, Legal and Revenue Accounting and Strategic Finance; proactively identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations to structure commercially sound deals by evaluating tradeoffs across price, term, volume, and risk, aligned with financial guidelines.
  • Lead financial modeling and evaluation of deal structures, ensuring alignment with margin targets, ARR goals, and long-term profitability.
  • Enforce approval frameworks and policies; manage escalations and exceptions for strategic deals.
  • Design and own discount reporting and cadence analytics to enable organization wide visibility into trends in the discounting program.
  • Work alongside R&D Finance and D&A teams to refine customer and product-level margin profiles.
