About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DB2 Database Administrator – OpenShift position for our client. This is an ongoing contract role located in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or Raleigh, NC, with no remote work option. The position involves administering and supporting DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments, including designing, building, migrating, configuring, tuning, and maintaining these databases. A key aspect of the role is supporting DB2/Db2U on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes, covering storage, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role will also lead or support on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations as part of database modernization initiatives. Responsibilities include performing SQL development, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and problem resolution, as well as managing database jobs and maintenance using scheduling tools like CRON or ESP. The administrator will troubleshoot DB2 and OpenShift performance, availability, and stability issues, and partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams. Support for IBM Q Replication (QREP) is preferred.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience migrating on-premises DB2 databases to Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Strong SQL and DB2 performance tuning experience.
  • Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

  • IBM Q Replication (QREP) — preferred
  • Large-scale database migration/modernization experience preferred.

Responsibilities
