Company Website Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Data Specialist at its facility located at 540 W Madison St, Floor 14, Chicago, IL 60661. Data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance or data architecture (25% of time spent on these job duties). Develop data object pipeline specifications including detailed field level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc (25% of time spent on these job duties). Document data models for domains to be deployed including a logical data model, candidate source lists, and canonical formats (20% of time spent on these job duties). Design robust, scalable database and data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions (15% of time spent on these job duties). Work directly on complex problems and provide solutions aligned with overall objectives of Cat Digital (15% of time spent on these job duties). Telecommuting: 1 day/week.

Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related occupation.
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related occupation.
Computer Architecture and systems Software Infrastructure
AWS tools such as CloudWatch logging, Lambda service, Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple Storage Service (S3), DynamoDB / NoSQL, or Relational Database Service (RDS)
API and scripting tools such as PowerShell, SQL, JSON, Python, Apigee, or Postman
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), CloudFormation, Elastic Compute Cloud(EC2), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Elastic BlockStore (EBS), or Elastic Container Service (ECS)
Data cleansing, conforming or correlation of transactional data sets.

Responsibilities
