Senior Data Scientist
About The Position
Reddit is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop actionable insights that inform product strategy through observational causal analysis and experiment meta-analysis. The role includes communicating results and recommendations to stakeholders, including C-suite leaders, and improving the team's experimentation practices through guidance on experiment design, execution, and in-depth analysis. The position also builds ETLs, tables, dashboards, and self-service tools for data scientists and cross-functional partners; designs and evaluates team-level KPIs to support quarterly goal setting and demonstrate impact; and regularly gathers stakeholder feedback and shares progress to align teams on business goals and outcomes. The Senior Data Scientist mentors junior data scientists and business partners in data science practices and methods to strengthen data literacy and decision-making. Full-time telecommuting is an option.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation; OR
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- A/B testing and experimentation design.
- Causal inference and incrementality measurement.
- Statistical modeling and data analysis.
- ETL development and maintenance.
- KPI design and goal setting.
- Cross-functional collaboration.
- Data visualization and reporting.
- Python and SQL.
- Machine learning and predictive modeling.
- Any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience is acceptable.
Responsibilities
- Develop actionable insights to drive product strategy through observational causal analysis and experiment meta-analysis.
- Clearly communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders, including C-suite leaders, to support action.
- Guide the design, execution, and in-depth analysis of A/B tests to improve experimentation practices and maximize learning.
- Create ETLs, tables, dashboards, and other self-service tools that enable data scientists and cross-functional partners to access and interact with data.
- Design, evaluate, and measure team-level KPIs to support quarterly goal setting and demonstrate team impact.
- Engage stakeholders to gather feedback and share work progress to maintain alignment on business goals and outcomes.
- Mentor junior data scientists and business partners in data science practices and methods to improve data literacy and decision-making.
