•$119,800 - $234,700

About The Position

Join the Microsoft Turing team to help shape enterprise and consumer productivity through Microsoft 365 Copilot. The Senior Data Scientist prepares and analyzes large-scale datasets, develops evaluations, runs experiments, and supports evidence-based decisions with measurable business impact. Working in small, multidisciplinary teams with engineers, product managers, applied scientists, and domain experts, this role owns the analytical lifecycle from data discovery and study design through measurement, insight generation, and product recommendations. The Microsoft Turing team is an applied research and engineering organization advancing large language models and conversational search experiences. It builds platform capabilities behind Microsoft 365 Copilot and brings AI-powered experiences into production at enterprise scale. Data Scientists on the team define measurement strategies, build evaluation datasets, design experiments, and translate results into recommendations while partnering with teams that develop and productionize systems and models. Assignments evolve based on employees’ interests, experience, and strengths. The role requires a qualifying degree and data-science experience or equivalent experience. Candidates must also be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing a Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter. The position is listed as Data Science IC4.
