About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Advanced Analytics Team in Huntsville, Alabama. The role supports use of the Army Vantage Data Analytics System to build and implement models, develop and apply algorithms, and create and run simulations. The position involves analyzing mission data across multiple domains and applying mathematical and computational methods to address customer problems.

The Data Scientist designs, develops, uses, and evaluates models, methods, and algorithm applications; develops and maintains complex software algorithms and tools; and researches products and tools for potential integration into Analytics and AI offerings. The role also creates applications using a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and libraries, supports and tests a MLOps framework for team analysis work, and enhances existing applications to better support the customer’s mission.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of experience, or a master’s degree and at least 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. or JD and at least 4 years of experience.
• Expertise with relational databases, including database storage, SQL queries, and primary and foreign keys.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, Java, and/or JavaScript.
• On-the-job knowledge of providing data analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience creating algorithms and engineering tools for data processing, modeling, and simulation.
• Practical understanding of machine-learning deployment, with a focus on optimization and theoretical and numerical methods for model refinement.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Current U.S. citizenship.

• Experience with Palantir Foundry/Vantage.

Responsibilities

• Create tools and applications using a variety of software languages, frameworks, and libraries.
• Improve, support, and test a MLOps framework for team members’ analysis work.
• Refine and enhance existing applications to better meet the customer’s mission.
