About The Position
The XBOX Growth Intelligence team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to use data, economics, and advanced analytics to influence strategy and drive ecosystem growth decisions across XBOX, Game Pass, Console, PC, and Store experiences. The role enables XBOX leadership to make better portfolio, product, content, and investment decisions by establishing trusted frameworks for measuring ecosystem health across XBOX and its partners. It also creates reusable analytical products and self-service capabilities to accelerate decision-making and reduce one-off analysis. The position leads ecosystem-level analyses and applies econometric, statistical, and causal inference methods to evaluate growth and optimization opportunities related to audience reach, engagement, and monetization. It designs and evaluates experiments and incrementality measurement frameworks and models to validate hypotheses and measure investment return. The Senior Data Scientist also uses agentic AI tools to build reusable analytical assets, mentors team members, and raises analytical standards across the organization.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 1 year of data-science experience; or a master's degree in one of these fields and at least 3 years of data-science experience; or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields and at least 5 years of data-science experience; or equivalent experience.
- Data-science experience such as managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques, and reporting results.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in SQL, Python or R, and agentic AI tools.
- Experience in experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, and machine-learning modeling.
- Executive communication skills to translate ambiguous business questions or technical details into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
- Ability to influence stakeholder decisions through data-driven recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Lead ecosystem-level analyses across XBOX experiences.
- Inform and influence high-stakes C-level investment decisions through data-driven insights.
- Apply econometric, statistical, and causal inference methods to evaluate growth and optimization opportunities in audience reach, engagement, and monetization.
- Design, build, and evaluate experiments and incrementality measurement frameworks and models to validate hypotheses and measure investment ROI.
- Leverage agentic AI tools to create reusable analytical assets and self-service capabilities.
- Mentor team members and raise the analytical bar across the organization.
