Berry Street is hiring its first Growth Data Scientist to own how the company measures growth and decides where to invest. The role’s mission is to grow patient volume while improving lifetime value (LTV) and customer acquisition cost (CAC), and to build measurement approaches and models that inform ongoing decisions rather than one-off analyses. The position reports to the Head of Data and partners closely with the Head of Growth, working across Growth, Product, and Engineering. The Growth Data Scientist will establish standards for measuring marketing impact using experiments, incrementality testing, attribution, and marketing mix modeling (MMM) as appropriate. They will use causal inference, Bayesian methods, regression, and forecasting to guide budget, channel mix, and creative decisions, and translate open-ended investment questions into decision frameworks. They will account for the lag between bookings and meaningful patient outcomes, build production models and automated decision systems—including an in-house ad optimization process—and identify growth opportunities beyond marketing, such as improvements to booking flows, provider availability, or signals sent to ad platforms. Berry Street is a healthcare platform connecting patients with more than 2,000 clinicians and AI tools to address chronic and acute conditions. The company works with health plans, health systems, and care management companies across all 50 states. Launched in 2023, it has served hundreds of thousands of patients and is Series B, backed by investors including Khosla, Northzone, and FJ Labs.
