About The Position

The position of Sr Data Scientist at Lucet entails creating strategic solutions from large amounts of data collected from various sources, organizing and analyzing the data, then interpreting the data and communicating the results to Lucet stakeholders. It requires a creative, analytical, and tech-savvy problem-solver with good communication skills, and an advanced knowledge of statistics and mathematics. The data scientist has an obligation to uphold the scientific integrity of Lucet and provide thought leadership that will improve members lives.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or similar.
  • 7+ years experience as a data scientist.
  • 5 + year in R or Python, where the former is preferred.
  • 5+ years In-depth understanding of SQL.
  • Competent in machine learning principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrable history of devising and overseeing data-centered projects.
  • Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions.
  • Capacity to foster a healthy, stimulating work environment that frequently harnesses teamwork.
  • Compliance with prevailing ethical standards.
  • Ability to pass background check upon hire and throughout employment to include criminal felony & misdemeanor search, SSN validation/trace search (LEIE), education report (highest degree obtained), civil upper and lower search, 7-year employment report, federal criminal search, statewide criminal search, widescreen plus national criminal search, health care sanctions-state med (SAM), national sex offender registry, prohibited parties (OFAC) (terrorist watchlist), and a 10-Panel Drug Screen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative analyses, design behavioral health assessments, and apply advanced statistical methods to generate actionable insights.
  • Ensure psychometric rigor (reliability, validity, predictive value) and validate models for generalizability and meaningful outcomes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and external collaborators to design research, gather requirements, and translate findings into business and clinical insights.
  • Deliver presentations and produce clear, non-technical reports to communicate results, limitations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Lead and manage data-driven projects, including data cleaning, task delegation, and oversight of analytic workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage insights for business impact while staying current on data science advancements.
