About The Position

SOSi is seeking a Data Scientist to join its analytics team on an innovative MLOps workload supporting a government customer in Huntsville, Alabama. The role delivers automation for national security missions, working with petabyte-scale data on supercomputing resources. The successful candidate will apply scientific techniques to transform large-scale data into useful data products that support data-driven decisions. The work uses Scrumban techniques and is embedded with end users.

The team works with open-source, commercial, and government software, including Docker, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, PostgreSQL, and other tools. It also uses GitOps patterns and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and GitHub. The position combines development and deployment of data science solutions with collaboration, prioritization, documentation, and writing maintainable code.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative field.
• At least four years of experience as a Data Scientist/Engineer or in an advanced analytical role.
• Programming knowledge in Python or a similar language.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of software design and system integration.

Responsibilities
