About The Position

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Senior Data Scientist dedicated to its Small Molecule Discovery organization. The role is part of the Data Science team and partners with medicinal chemists, automation scientists, data engineers, computational scientists, and technology teams to turn small-molecule discovery data into trusted, reusable, AI-ready assets. It bridges scientific discovery, data science, and scientific data engineering, shaping how molecular, synthesis and purification, and assay data are represented, connected, and used for scientific decision-making, analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities throughout the discovery lifecycle. The Senior Data Scientist designs and develops data assets, analytical solutions, and scientific data workflows supporting research across the Design-Make-Test-Analyze cycle. The role transforms complex scientific data into scalable, well-governed resources and helps establish foundations for analytics, machine learning, and digital laboratory initiatives. It also supports integration of data from discovery workflows, improves data quality, and enables AI applications developed with In Silico Discovery partners. The successful candidate combines strong data science capabilities with an understanding of small-molecule discovery data and scientific workflows. They collaborate with scientists and engineers, communicate across scientific and technical audiences, and help build connected, trustworthy, reusable data assets that support discovery outcomes and AI-driven drug discovery.
