About The Position

PSEG is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to transform data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions across the organization. The role works with Customer Analytics and IT teams to develop visualized analytics solutions, including AI/ML models, for Customer Solutions. The work includes identifying trends and friction points in customer journeys, analyzing customer behavior, and developing solutions to improve customer experience. The position also prepares PowerPoint presentations summarizing analyses for senior management. The role requires experience in data visualization, data modeling, data engineering, AI/ML development, data analysis, AWS cloud services, Power BI, and Python. It involves working with large data sets and communicating technical findings to stakeholders. The position is hybrid, with at least three onsite days per week. PSEG does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in data science, engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, mathematics, or a related field.
Five years of knowledge and experience with data mining techniques, data modeling, statistical analysis, and algorithms.
Five years of experience using SQL and developing and maintaining ETL workflows with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); school projects or assignments may count.
Five years of experience leveraging AWS services to deploy scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions; school projects or assignments may count.
Five years of experience in Python coding; school projects or assignments may count.
Experience working with large data sets and strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and succinctly to non-technical stakeholders.
Results-oriented, data-driven, and self-starting.
Compliance with the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
Must meet applicable eligibility requirements under 10 CFR 810 if the position requires access to covered information.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree, such as a master’s degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Knowledge of OSI PI products, including OSI PI architecture, PI AF hierarchy, and analytics.
Hands-on experience with Power BI, AWS cloud services, Python, data visualization, data modeling, data engineering, and AI/ML development.

Responsibilities

Collect, summarize, analyze, and deliver insights and data products using multiple data sources, and develop data models for Power BI dashboards.
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Identify valuable data sources and assist with optimizing data pipelines to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
Facilitate business requirements sessions among business stakeholders, IT, and vendors.
Facilitate and execute testing among business stakeholders, IT, and vendors.
Transform data to define analytics solutions, including AI/ML solutions, that support decisions about initiatives to improve customer experience.
Analyze operational and non-operational data to deliver insights that contribute to improvements.
Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to validate assumptions and build scenarios.
Interpret data to discover solutions, identify opportunities, and support decision-making.
Communicate results and insights effectively to subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
Synthesize analysis, recommendations, and actionable insights into PowerPoint presentations for management.
