About The Position

RevenueCat is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the RC Capital team. This is a founding role where you will establish the data science strategy for RC Capital, focusing on lead qualification, anomaly detection, fraud prevention, and underwriting. You will build foundational systems from scratch, partnering directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to launch and scale new fintech business lines. The role involves working with real-time, cross-platform revenue data to develop sophisticated models that directly impact financial products and developer success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data science experience, ideally with a strong background in fintech, credit, lending, or payments.
  • Deep expertise in fraud and/or underwriting.
  • Ability to build models that balance risk and growth, and understanding of financial data nuances.
  • Highly analytical and technical.
  • Expert in SQL and Python.
  • Ability to build, deploy, and monitor models in production.
  • Proactive in data retrieval and analysis.
  • Acts like an owner, treating the company's balance sheet, product, and brand as their own.
  • Comfortable making low-information, high-stakes decisions.
  • Ability to quickly gain confidence, move on, and iterate.
  • Systems thinker, able to see the process and identify opportunities for automation and scaling.
  • Knows when a task is 'good enough', balancing detail, speed, and ambition without losing sight of impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Data Science strategy for RC Capital.
  • Build the foundation for underwriting and fraud detection systems from the ground up.
  • Define models, signals, and the approach for data science initiatives.
  • Develop sophisticated models for lead qualification, anomaly detection, fraud prevention, and credit underwriting.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to integrate risk signals and underwriting logic into customer-facing flows and internal decisioning engines.
  • Analyze cross-platform revenue data to uncover insights that improve underwriting models and product design.
  • Build mechanisms for measuring impact, evaluating model performance, and driving prioritization of new data initiatives.
  • Operate with high ownership in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment helping to define the long-term vision for financial products.
