About The Position

Tavant Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to derive actionable insights from complex and large datasets using advanced analytical techniques and machine learning. The role focuses on building predictive models, identifying trends, and supporting data-driven decision-making and product development. The Senior Data Scientist will work with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into products and services, including in the Energy Sector, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role also includes mentoring junior data scientists and keeping current with developments in data science and machine learning.

Requirements

• Strong experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data manipulation libraries.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis techniques and data modeling.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Ability to work with databases and query large datasets using SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• A degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

• A master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience in the technology industry or Oil and Gas industry.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and models to solve business problems.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends and generate actionable insights for decision-making and product development.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into products and services, including in the Energy Sector.

• Stay current with advancements in data science and machine learning technologies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists and foster a collaborative environment.
