About the Role: As a Senior Data Scientist for the Core Pricing team, you will serve as a technically-grounded lead who prioritizes hypothesis generation and experimental design. You will focus on the "why" and "what’s next" to drive our regional strategy, moving beyond standard business reporting to build the pricing engines that power our global business. You will be responsible for deep-diving into customer behavior across different segments and geographies to understand the first- and second-order impact of our pricing decisions. You will report to our Vice President of Pricing Platform & Optimization will be required to be in office 3 days a week based in our Seattle, WA office.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning engineering, research science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Scope & Autonomy: Proven ability to lead complex data projects from conception to completion with minimal supervision, identifying high-leverage opportunities for the business.
  • Technical Mastery: Expertise in Python or R for advanced data analysis and predictive modeling, alongside mastery of SQL for complex data extraction.
  • Statistical Rigor: Advanced understanding of statistical concepts, including A/B testing, probability theory, and causal inference, applied to real-world business problems.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to look beyond “what happened” to determine “why” and “what's next,” translating complex findings into clear strategic narratives.
  • Education: Masters's degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or another quantitative field (PhD preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Build financial and predictive models to improve pricing strategies and increase revenue.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to design pricing experiments.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with team goals.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to inform pricing strategy.
  • Partner with GM, Product, and Finance teams to transform complex datasets into rigorous data products.
  • Act like a bridge between business leaders and the Machine Learning organization.
