About The Position

TechSilo is seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Analytical Lead to support a public university system with more than 60 campuses. The role will analyze procurement, food, plastics, and emissions data reported in different formats and on different fiscal calendars, making the information comparable and turning it into useful findings for campus and system leaders. The Analytical Lead will design analyses and build and validate forecasting, scenario, and benchmarking models. Models should clearly state their horizon, assumptions, and uncertainty. The role may also serve as Task Lead, coordinating individual Task Orders by agreeing on scope with the client, setting the approach, tracking hours against estimates, and reporting status. The position guides analysts and dashboard developers, checks methods before senior review, and explains data findings and limitations to non-technical audiences. AI-assisted tools may be used only with client approval; their use must be documented and results independently verified. Work is remote and part-time, with hours authorized Task Order by Task Order—typically 10 to 20 hours per week when work is active. There is no guaranteed minimum, and the role begins only if the contract is awarded. The employee sets their schedule within delivery dates. Finalists will be asked to sign a commitment letter for inclusion in the proposal, and their resume may be shared with the client.
