Senior Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Administrator
About The Position
The Senior Data Platform Engineer is a highly hands-on individual contributor responsible for administering, optimizing, and continuously improving enterprise data platforms across cloud environments. The role ensures the availability, performance, scalability, security, and reliability of platform services within modern data ecosystems that support data warehousing, integration services, streaming technologies, and analytics platforms. The position collaborates with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security teams to enable scalable, secure, and efficient platform operations while advancing automation and operational maturity. The work supports BOK Financial’s cloud, data, and AI transformation, including an enterprise data lake, governed data products, and scalable analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a data-centric or engineering field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, and 12+ years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience administering and operating enterprise data platforms in production environments.
- Strong understanding of platform operations, monitoring, access management, security controls, and service reliability practices.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native infrastructure and managed services.
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code approaches for platform management and operations.
- Strong understanding of system reliability, fault tolerance, scalability, and performance optimization principles.
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for complex platform issues.
- Experience with release management, environment lifecycle, and operational support processes.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement long-term solutions.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools and practices.
- Strong collaboration skills across Data Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and business teams.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain platform issues, risks, and service impacts to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on improving system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ownership and accountability for platform stability, performance, and service outcomes.
- Focus on continuous improvement of platform operations, processes, and engineering practices.
