About The Position

The Senior Data Manager acquires, cleans, and develops datasets from internal and external sources to support business analysis and reporting. The role validates, stores, and protects data and follows processes that ensure data accessibility, reliability, and timeliness. It also develops and executes data architectures, policies, practices, and procedures to manage the enterprise data lifecycle. The position works with business and IT departments to understand user needs and translate them into technical data requirements. It coordinates with other teams, manages projects through completion and within scope, prepares data and visualizations for reporting and analysis, and conducts in-depth analysis to support business outcomes and decisions. The role also identifies process improvements, documents problems and processes, and communicates project progress to clients. This is a remote role with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Employees working from home must have internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds and a dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 7 years of technical experience in data analysis using ETL tools and developing ETL solutions.
At least 3 years of experience using Databricks.
Experience working in a SQL environment, with comprehensive knowledge of SSMS and SSIS.
Extensive experience developing stored procedures and dynamic SQL.
Strong working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or related technologies, and Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
Experience making complex data accessible, understandable, and usable for leaders to derive insights.
Experience leading projects through the full lifecycle, from design and coding through code review and deployment.
Proficiency in root cause analysis.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and provide solutions for business or data issues.
Good presentation skills for conducting client demonstration meetings.
Experience working with deadlines and addressing customer satisfaction.
Ability to interact with business and IT departments to understand user needs and translate them into technical data requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivation, innovative thinking, and curiosity about data.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Healthcare or managed care experience.
Experience implementing scalable and maintainable dimensional data models to meet business objectives, including constructing Azure Data Factory and automating implemented data architectures.
Experience providing architecture guidance on Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Modern BI architecture concepts and technologies using Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Databricks.
