Overview Join Avison Young’s dynamic Data Architecture team as a Business Analyst, where you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders, users, and developers. You will be instrumental in setting and communicating project and product goals, developing technical requirements, conducting acceptance testing, and overseeing deployments and rollouts. Your work will primarily focus on internal data systems, pipelines, and warehousing projects that support our proprietary products and data visualization teams. The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $93,000 to $120,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Requirements

Expert proficiency in SQL and database management systems.
Expert proficiency in writing requirements and testing technology systems.
Experience in environment management, deployment management, and testing.
Familiar with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipelines.
Strong analytical skills and complex problem-solving capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
At least 4 years of direct experience in a software development-related role.

Responsibilities

Senior technical position focused on analytics engineering with Snowflake and dbt
Additional responsibilities as Scrum Master for the data team
Lead requirements gathering process for data initiatives
Design and implement data models and transformations
Drive data team productivity and project delivery
Design, develop, and maintain data models in Snowflake using dbt
Create efficient SQL transformations for complex business logic
Implement data quality testing and documentation
Optimize query performance and data pipeline efficiency
Establish data modeling standards and best practices
Develop reusable analytics components and design patterns
Collaborate with data engineers on data ingestion and architecture
Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning)
Gather business requirements from stakeholders across departments
Translate business needs into technical requirements for the data team
Document user stories and acceptance criteria
Prioritize backlog items based on business value and technical dependencies
