About The Position

Ready to shape the future of data engineering? Join us as a Senior Data Engineer and help build scalable, cloud-native data solutions that power modern analytics and decision-making in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will maintain and modernize scalable data pipelines and industrialized data assets, with a strong focus on connected vehicle services data integration and optimization to support the GM connected vehicle ecosystem across our automotive business. You will partner closely with Operations, BI Developers, and Marketing and Sales Operations teams to deliver data solutions that enhance customer experience, ensure reliable services, and provide operational oversight. Using cloud-native technologies, including Azure Databricks, and hybrid technologies like IBM Cloud Pak with IBM Data Stage you will enable advanced observability into our vehicle fleet—helping shape the future of connected vehicles. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who is passionate about building scalable data solutions and applying modern development and DevOps practices to data engineering workflows, with a strong background working in DataStage and Databricks-based environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ Years Data Engineering Experience
  • Proven experience working with Databricks and Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, etc.).
  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak.
  • Experience migrating DataStage jobs to hybrid ETL, SQL, and Python.
  • Experience working with connected vehicles data.
  • Strong proficiency in DataStage.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and distributed data processing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps tools for data engineering.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture, data security, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and deliver solutions at scale.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Implemented visualizations with Power-BI or Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using Databricks and Azure Data Services.
  • Utilize IBM Cloud Pack and IBM DataStage to near real-time processing of connected vehicle service data.
  • Implement best practices for data engineering, including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure data solutions.
  • Drive adoption of modern DevOps practices within the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across all solutions.
