About The Position

ALO is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the foundational data platform powering analytics, real-time decisioning, and operational intelligence. The role involves delivering production-grade systems for event ingestion, transformation, modeling, and serving, and making them reusable, reliable, and scalable. The engineer will build and extend batch and real-time systems that enable marketing automation, inventory intelligence, and order fulfillment visibility, primarily on AWS.

Requirements

3–5+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
Experience working on large-scale data platforms.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with event-driven and streaming pipelines.
Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Experience with dbt, SQL, and Python.
Experience with batch and real-time pipelines.
Experience with Medallion architecture.

Retail or e-commerce experience.

Responsibilities

Build and operate core components of the data platform, primarily on AWS.
Implement and scale event-driven pipelines using Kinesis, Kafka, or similar technologies.
Develop and extend Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
Develop ELT pipelines using dbt and modern data warehouses such as Redshift and BigQuery.
Support real-time marketing use cases, including segmentation, triggers, and personalization.
Build data models and pipelines for inventory intelligence and allocation optimization.
Build pipelines for order lifecycle and SLA insights.
Apply and help improve standards for data modeling, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
Partner with cross-functional teams across business domains.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and design discussions.
