About The Position

Alo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the foundational data platform supporting analytics, real-time decisioning, and operational intelligence across the company. The role involves delivering production-grade data systems across event ingestion, transformation, modeling, and serving, with an emphasis on reusable, reliable, and scalable systems.

The engineer will build and extend batch and real-time systems that ingest, process, and enable action on data. These systems support use cases including marketing automation, inventory intelligence, and order fulfillment visibility. The role also partners with teams across business domains and contributes to engineering standards, code reviews, and design discussions.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• Experience working on large-scale data platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with event-driven and streaming pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Knowledge of dbt, SQL, and Python.
• Experience with batch and real-time pipelines.
• Knowledge of Medallion architecture.

• Retail or e-commerce experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate core components of the data platform, primarily on AWS.
• Implement and scale event-driven pipelines using Kinesis, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Develop and extend a Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Develop ELT pipelines using dbt and modern data warehouses such as Redshift and BigQuery.
• Support real-time marketing use cases, including segmentation, triggers, and personalization.
• Build data models and pipelines for inventory intelligence and allocation optimization.
• Build pipelines for order lifecycle and SLA insights.
• Apply and help improve standards for data modeling, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across business domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and design discussions.
