About The Position
Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking applicants with diverse skills and experience to join our innovative and inclusive community. Join us as a Senior Data Engineer, where you will design and scale modern data pipelines and platforms that advance Boston University's data and analytics capabilities. In this role, you'll help support institutional reporting, research, and strategic decision-making through reliable, high-quality data solutions. You will also build robust ETL workflows, optimize data performance, and strengthen data governance across the University's technology ecosystem. As part of the Data Engineering team, you will report to the Director of Data Engineering and work closely with architects, analysts, and developers in a hybrid environment based in Boston, MA.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes using modern cloud technologies.
- Experience leading the development and optimization of analytical data models to support reporting and analytics.
- Experience managing infrastructure deployments, containerized workloads, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience implementing data quality, testing, observability, and governance standards across the data platform.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring team members to advance data strategy and engineering best practices.
