Senior Data Engineer
About The Position
Optiveum is recruiting and contracting Senior Data Engineers to join agile product teams at a client in the automotive industry. The role covers end-to-end data engineering in a modern cloud architecture, including management of master data management (MDM) data products, optimization of data flows, and modernization from legacy solutions such as SSIS and MS SQL Server BI to cloud-native platforms on Azure and Databricks. The work spans the full data product lifecycle, from design and ingestion to delivering high-quality master data for analytics and downstream consumers. The cooperation agreement will be signed directly with Optiveum. The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and hybrid, with three days per week in the office in Wrocław. The stated rate is up to 160 PLN per hour net on a B2B basis. There are three openings.
Requirements
- Strong end-to-end experience with analytics platforms, data products, data warehouses (star schema, Data Vault, multidimensional, and tabular), and modern data architectures.
- Expert knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with batch, incremental, CDC, and event-driven data patterns.
- Experience with logical and physical data modelling.
- Experience designing ETL/ELT, including high-performing SSIS packages and script components in C#.
- Experience developing and maintaining APIs.
- Cloud-native experience on Azure and legacy modernization (SSIS to cloud), including technology trade-offs for storage and processing.
- Experience with agile ways of working and Jira (JQL) and Confluence.
- Proactive, self-starting approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ambition to grow towards a Data/Analytics Architect role.
- Clear documentation and business communication in English.
- Willingness to provide a criminal record certificate.

Responsibilities
- Co-drive solution design with Business Analysts, including target architectures, data models, data flows, and integration patterns that are cloud-native, scalable, and secure.
- Handle data ingestion, cleansing, standardization, transformation, and API provisioning from source systems, such as customer and product master data.
- Optimize existing ETL/ELT flows, build infrastructure for extraction and loading from diverse sources, and modernize legacy solutions.
- Assess feasibility, risks, and dependencies; prepare implementation-ready designs, documentation, diagrams, and CI/CD automation.
- Work with stakeholders, data stewards, architects, and teams to deliver non-functional requirements such as quality, security, and stability.
- Evaluate and improve analytics solutions, integrate systems, and explain technical topics to business audiences.
