About The Position

The Data Center Build Engineer Team designs and constructs physical data center infrastructure to create capacity that supports Oracle Cloud Infrastructure across regions worldwide. This role requires strong expertise in Layer 1 networking, data center facilities such as power and cooling, structured cabling solutions, and vendor management, along with a proven history of building and supporting low-voltage physical data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Implements structured cabling solutions for new data center builds and expansions.
Deploys physical plant cabling systems.
May contribute to the development global data center cabling and infrastructure standards.
Troubleshoots moderately complex cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
Coordinates infrastructure implementation efforts for Oracle data centers.
Develops sustainable and repeatable solutions to support the continuous improvement of data centers.
Aligns the team on the scope of project work, reviewing the Bill of Materials and resources available, reviews the project roadmap to align with the scope and business needs.
Prioritizes customer experience in project planning and delivery.
Collaborates with Program Management teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time.
Attends vendor business reviews to report on team's project updates and document vendor progress and roadblocks.
Creates and maintains documentation on cabling and build standards for data center infrastructure.
Collaborates with vendors to deliver build out of data center infrastructure.
Participates in the vendor bidding and selection process.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
Manages and coordinates moderately complex tasks, monitoring timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion and adherence to requirements for a moderately-sized project or initiative.
Efficiently delegates, monitors, and prioritizes work across multiple projects, providing technical oversight and adjusting plans to address shifts in resources or timelines.
Collaborates across the organization to align on expectations and achieve shared objectives.
Leverages understanding of business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs.
