About The Position

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team of dynamic professionals. This position supports a federal agency client in delivering advanced data analytics, Management Information System (MIS) operations, and performance measurement services. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of applied experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a closely related role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Expert proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data engineering, statistical modeling, and analytical product development.
  • Advanced experience with Tableau or equivalent business intelligence platforms, including dashboard design, automation, and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing predictive models, network analysis methods, and statistical evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience developing and managing ETL pipelines across heterogeneous data sources.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality assurance methodologies, and documentation standards.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Experience managing or mentoring analytical staff in a project or team environment.
  • Active Secret security clearance (minimum); Top Secret/SCI eligibility required for designated positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal law enforcement, Homeland Security, or intelligence community analytics programs.
  • Familiarity with agency or partner law enforcement data systems and investigative performance frameworks.
  • Experience with alternative dashboard technologies (e.g., Power BI, Qlik, Looker) and platform migration projects.
  • Background in return-on-investment analysis and operational impact assessment within a law enforcement or national security context.
  • Experience with MIS data environments, interagency data integration, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of network analysis tools and graph-based analytical methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced statistical analyses of investigative outcomes, asset seizures/forfeitures, and performance metrics.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated Tableau dashboards; evaluate and, if directed, migrate dashboards to alternative technologies.
  • Build and maintain predictive models for investigative prioritization, monitoring, data-based decision making, and case success probability assessment.
  • Conduct network analysis to identify high-value targets, facilitators, and financial flows within criminal enterprises.
  • Develop Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) pipelines to ensure regular ingestion and transformation of interagency datasets from agency MIS and partner law enforcement systems.
  • Produce consolidated program performance reports, quarterly data packages, and ad-hoc statistical summaries for federal leadership and oversight bodies, and partner agencies.
  • Develop new metrics for impact assessment and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Analyze program metrics to assess operational impact, identify resource allocation opportunities, and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct quarterly MIS data quality audits, develop audit dashboards, and propose remediation strategies.
  • Provide interactive dashboards and visual analytics tailored to executive and operational audiences.
  • Support operational briefings with analytical products and clear, actionable summaries drawn from complex datasets.
  • Document schema, business rules, and transformation logic to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Identify and propose system improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow optimizations.
  • Research and respond to questions on program issues using advanced statistical techniques and industry-standard research methodology.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior analysts on the MIS team.
  • Support transition management activities (transition-in and transition-out), including knowledge capture and transfer of all operational processes, documentation, and system design information.
